Helping out on this last case had rattled her. Hearing the price that would come due made her determined to set things right. So she hunted solo for the first time in years.
Locating her prey was easy. It turned out she was only a few hours drive away. Practically under her nose. She broke into the closed bar and took four steps. “Stop right there,” a female voice warned as a shotgun poked into her back.
Just like she had taught her. “Hi Jo,” Ellen said. She turned around to face her daughter. “I’ve missed you. Can we talk?”
