Notes: Response to prompt #31 “the long dark teatime
of the soul”. Tea Time is a real place, although
I haven’t had the pleasure of going there.
He could do this.
He had been trained as a hunter since the cradle. Killed
more things with blessed silver and holy knives and
consecrated wood than he cared to contemplate. He stared
into the darkness while it stared back and more than
survived. He was stronger for it.
But he never lost his longing for something simple. Even
away from his family, he felt he was only playing a role.
Here was his chance to actually be normal.
So why did taking Jessica out to The Tea Time for their
first real date scare him more than any demon?
