This story began as a challenge between two X-Files Fanfiction authors. The idea: to write a simple story involving two of our existing original characters. Although they'd already been given stories of their own, the characters would meet in an entirely different universe. Their pasts would remain as they'd been created. Their futures were unknown.

Sabryn is a 20-something young artist, eager to break free from her past, takes a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the west coast, and meets the love of her life. Only one problem--he's over a thousand years old. Her life becomes intertwined with vampires and werewolves, aliens and deadly rivals. But nothing can stand between her and her eternal love.

Anton is a 1012 year old vampire, taking a break from his normal life. The last thing he was expecting was to fall in love at first sight. And with his new love has come new adventures that he never expected to experience since he had become one of the undead.

Although very much its own tale, "Runs in the Blood" is loosely related to a completed short story story written by Shael called Anton and two works in progress, the novel Loup Garou by Shael and the novel Move Heaven and Earth, by Isahunter. It is not necessary to have read either novel, so if you're beginning your journey with this tale, you won't be lost.
